What the viewer shows you

Viewer or editor?

A viewer answers “what is in this file?”. When you need to move a shape, recolour an icon, fix a path or export a PNG, open the file in the online SVG editor. Questions

How do I open an SVG file online?

Drop the .svg file onto the viewer above or click Choose file. It renders instantly in your browser. You can also paste SVG markup straight into the text box.

Is my SVG uploaded to a server?

No. The file is read and rendered locally by your browser. Nothing leaves your device.

Why does my SVG look blank?

The usual causes are shapes drawn outside the viewBox, a fill of none with no stroke, white artwork on a white background, or references to external images and fonts the browser cannot load. The checkerboard background makes white and transparent areas visible, and the stats panel shows the viewBox so you can spot an offset.

Is it safe to view SVG files from unknown sources?

SVG can contain JavaScript. This viewer renders the file as an image, which stops scripts from running. Only open untrusted SVGs directly in a browser tab if you know what they contain.

Can I edit the SVG after viewing it?

Yes. Click Edit in Vectopea to open the file in the full SVG editor, where shapes, paths, text, gradients and groups become editable objects.
